Dentures
Enjoy the benefits of a modern practice conveniently located in Frankston.
When it comes to denture care you need a professional who has the experience and expertise to deliver the best possible care. Over many years Greg has developed a reputation for achieving excellent aesthetic results without compromising the functionality of your dentures.
Other than daily cleaning of your dentures it is important to have your mouth and dentures checked each year. The bone that supports your dentures is constantly changing after natural dentition is lost. As a result the contour of the mouth that the denture is suctioned to undergoes change which will compromise the fit of a denture. For the small cost of a consultation, Greg will provide you with a detailed assessment of your dentures and the health of the supporting tissue ensuring the maximum life expectancy of your dentures.

Immediate Dentures
For patients in the process of multiple or complete tooth loss immediate dentures can be custom made prior to extraction of their natural teeth. In doing so dentures can be ‘immediately’ inserted by a dental surgeon at the time of extractions in order to avoid any period of time without teeth as the mouth heals. At Greg Sharman’s denture practice we will provide full clinical and administrative support for our patients undergoing this treatment. Implant Dentures
Optimum tooth replacement is achieved with dental implants and can be used to retain full or partial dentures. Ideally all dentures would fit and function perfectly however this is not always the case for some denture wearers. Dental implants offer a minimally invasive solution for loose dentures whereby your dentures are retrofitted with housings which enable it to fit securely on the implants. The obvious benefits of implants are providing stability during eating and reducing food seepage under the denture however they have also been shown to preserve bone in the jaw and reduce gum loss. |
Emergency Denture Repairs
Dentures do not respond well to sudden hard forces, for example being dropped on the bathroom floor. However most dentures break because they are old or poorly fitting. At Greg Sharman’s Denture Clinic we offer emergency denture repairs which can be attended to ‘while-you-wait’ or on the same day. It is advisable to call and arrange a time in order to minimize wait time. Complete Dentures
Making dentures is an art form, it requires refined technique to select shade, size and shape of individual teeth and then work them into a setting that creates a smile that belongs only to you. We understand that your smile is one of the first impressions you make and with over 30 years experience Greg has mastered his craft. Our patients are always involved in the process of designing their smile. This is done by setting teeth into a wax model over the course of several appointments so that we can work with our patient to achieve the desired aesthetics. |
Denture Relines
Denture relining is an ideal service for a patient who is happy with the appearance of their denture but they have become loose due to changes in the underlying bone and soft tissue. The process of relining will correct the fitting surface of the denture to improve retention. Partial Dentures
It is important to replace missing teeth for several reasons; appearance, chewing ability, support of remaining teeth and support of an opposing denture. A partial denture can significantly reduce the degree of wear on your remaining teeth by evenly distributing chewing and grinding forces. Partial dentures are individually designed from a range of materials specific to your needs. Partial dentures continue to be a cost effective treatment for multiple tooth loss. Sports Mouthguard
A custom fitted mouthguard is the best aid in preventing dental trauma for athletes participating in contact sport. Mouthguards are designed to fit comfortably yet firmly allowing easy breathing and communication. |
